SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Articles for submission must be previously unpublished, originals and in English. Papers should be well-written and correct from the point of view of English language. In submitting work to Journal of Science and Arts, authors agree to the policies of the journal.

Authors receive page proofs of their articles, to be proofread, corrected, and returned within five days of receipt.

Abstract. This document is an example of a contribution to be submitted for the Journal of Science and Arts of Valahia University of Targoviste. This is the abstract in font size: 12 pt with the heading in bold. Please use the Times New Roman font. The title is in size 14 pt Bold (all capital letters), the names of the authors are in size 12 pt and the name of the organization and its address are in size 11 pt. The abstract is write as one column text, single-space, font size 12, italic. The text is in single-space, typed in a one column layout and font size 12 pt. Please do not number the pages.

Keywords: 3 or 5 words.

Authors are kindly requested to adhere to the formatting instructions for font size and layout.

2. How to submit your document

Please send your contribution as an e-mail attachment to josa@icstm.ro, using Microsoft Word (Office 97 or higher for PCs).  Authors should indicate the subject matter (i.e.  Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics etc.) of their paper in their emails along with their contact address, daytime phone number if available. Authors will be notified by email if their contribution is accepted or if it required changes.

3. How to prepare your paper

In MS Word, under the File menu, choose Page setup and set the Top, Bottom, Left & Right Margins as 2.5 cm, the Gutter as 0 cm, and the Header and Footer to 1.2 cm and choose Apply to: Whole Document. Then select the "Paper Size" tab and set the Paper Size: A4 and Orientation: Portrait. It is also requested that the contributions should include an abstract, an introduction, conclusions and relevant references in addition to the paper itself.

4. Figures and Tables

Figure and table titles must be typed in bold and should appear below the figures and above the tables.

5. Equations

Equations must also fit into one column. If wider, could be placed as single column and counted from 1 to n numbers.

References

References should be numbered in the text in the order they are cited [1]. Multiple consecutive references may be abbreviated as [2-5]. The following style must be used for
all contributions:
[1] Author-X (last/family name), A. B. (first & middle initials), Title of the book, Publisher, City of publication, Year, Page reference.
[2] Author-Y, C. D., and Author-Z, E. F., Name of the Journal / Proceedings, 83 (volume), 1526 (first page),
1998 (year).

PUBLICATION ETHICS

  • The editor and any editorial staff must not reveal any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
  • The editorial board of Journal of Science and Arts is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published.
  • Peer review process is assisted by the editorial board which can make editorial decisions and may help to the improving the paper by the author.
  • Any manuscripts received by the editors and reviewers as well, must be treated as confidential documents. Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in their own research.
  • Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
  • Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
  • An article submitted for publishing should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.
  • Authors should ensure that submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere in any language, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.
  • Applicable copyright laws and conventions should be followed. Copyright material (e.g. tables, figures or extensive quotations) are not accepted in article and if are exist should be reproduced only with appropriate permission and acknowledgement.
  • Submitting the same paper to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
  • Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
  • All authors who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors.
  • All authors should ensure that have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.
  • When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
  • In cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication or plagiarism the publisher, in close collaboration with the Editors, will take all appropriate measures to clarify the situation and to amend the article in question. This includes the prompt publication of an erratum or, in the most severe cases, the complete retraction of the affected work.
  • The editorial board of the journal does not discriminate on the basis of age, color, religion, creed, disability, marital status, veteran status, national origin, race, gender, genetic predisposition or carrier status, in its publishing programs, services and activities.
